Friday Five || 5 Splurge or Save Fall Favorites

Today I’m sharing 5 pieces to add to your fall/winter wardrobe! They are all super versatile, but can be a bit pricey. This is why I am also revealing budget-conscious alternatives to each of these items!

1. Free People Sweater

This Free People “My Only Sunshine” Sweater in the color below sold out immediately during the Nordstrom Anniversary Early Access Sale. It is incredibly popular! It still hasn’t been restocked in this shade, but limited sizes are available in other colors. Luckily, I found this great dupe that comes in 6 colors!

2. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

Another fall favorite! These leggings sold out and were restocked multiple times during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They pair perfectly with an oversized sweater or tunic and boots! They are also available on the Spanx website in TALL and PETITE sizes (score!!!)! And they run up to a 3X. If you’re not sure about spending close to $100 on this style, I’m sharing this affordable option from Target!

3. Sam Edelman Leather Jacket

I wear my leather jacket all year round, but it gets the most use during the fall and winter months. It is a must have in my wardrobe for casual outfits or edgy date night looks. I prefer a genuine leather jacket like this one. But I know that’s not for everyone! Lots of people choose not to wear animal product or can’t shell out tons of money for a leather jacket. This one is a good alternative faux leather jacket. Here’s another faux leather jacket from the same brand that’s quite popular (over 1,000 positive reviews), but stock is limited!

4. Patagonia Down Jacket

Patagonia and North Face have fantastic down jackets in tons of different styles and lengths. They will last for years, but usually cost a pretty penny! My husband isn’t big on jackets or coats…he opts for a hoodie instead, which isn’t always practical when it’s raining or super cold out. Living in a city like London where we walk EVERYWHERE, a coat is a necessity. Since Tyler isn’t so keen on coats to begin with, we didn’t want to spend a ton of money on one. He saw a friend wearing the men’s version of this hooded down jacket, and said, “I want one like that.” Lucky for us, it was super affordable! I bought it for him as a gift, and he really likes it because it’s lightweight but keeps him nice and warm! There’s also a similar option (shown in the image below) from the same brand that doesn’t have a hood.

5. Leather High Waisted Pants

Leather trousers are a super popular trend for fall and winter. While you can go with a genuine leather option, there are also lots of faux leather pants that allow you to save big! These will be such a versatile piece in your cold weather wardrobe. Rock them during the day with a chunky sweater, or take them for a spin on date night with heels and a lace cami.
