Fall Trends I’m Loving

You might live in a city that is still getting some sunshine, but London is in full on fall mode. Last weekend it was in the 50s and nearly every day in the forecast is showing rain (waaah)! But that’s alright because it means I’ll be living in all the cozy fall trends that I’m loving for 2020!

I like most of my wardrobe basics to be timeless. Things that I can wear year over year regardless of what is trendy. However, there are definitely a few autumn styles that I am TOTALLY HERE FOR!

1. The Shacket

If you’ve already seen this post, then you know I’m a huge fan of this hybrid piece. The shirt/jacket comes in a wide variety of prints and textures to pair with any fall outfit. Go with a plaid or corduroy option if you’re looking for something comfy and casual, a quilted one for a preppy vibe, or opt for a faux leather shacket to create a sleek look! Check out how I styled mine below:

2. Faux Leather Leggings and Trousers

These Spanx faux leather leggings are wildly popular! If you buy them directly from the Spanx site, they come in tall, regular, and petite sizes! I’m going to love pairing them with a tunic sweater and boots all fall and winter. I definitely think these will be a staple in my wardrobe for the next few years, so I can justify the price tag. If you’re not so keen on spending $100 on leggings, I also have these TALL faux leather leggings that are only $35! I’ll link them in regular, curvy, and petite sizes below too!

In addition to the leggings, leather trousers are having a major moment right now. They are such a chic 2020 trend! Luckily, I found a pair for my tall ladies (linked below)!

3. Chunky Boots

I love the look of the chunky boot trend, but the platforms are a little much for me. They’re a bit heavy and I’m not exactly dying to add 3-4 extra vertical inches (I already have plenty of those). So I chose to go with a lighter combat boot! They definitely add a fun edgy vibe to autumn outfits.

4. Pleated Skirts (midi and mini)

This trend isn’t a new one, but it’s still thriving on the streets of London. I am continuing to see people style pleated midi skirts in so many unique ways. It’s super versatile AND universally flattering. This is another trend that is so easy to dress up or down! I love that you can wear them to work and then toss on a leather jacket and head out to happy hour. Pleated tennis-style mini skirts were hugely popular this past summer and lots of people are finding ways to transition them to the fall too. Try pairing them with a crew neck sweat shirt and thigh high boots!

What fall trends are you loving?
