There are so many cute, trendy shoes that I’ve been lusting at for fall (like these and these). However, I find myself sticking with basics that I will wear on repeat all season long (and next fall too). To be honest, some of these styles I wear practically ALL year long! Here are the styles that just keep on giving:
1. Pointed-Toe Bootie with Block Heel
As you might know, THESE chelsea booties are my most worn shoe! I get the most wear out of them in the fall and winter, but they make plenty of appearances in the spring and summer too. They come in a ton of different colors and prints, have a comfortable low heel, and go with everything! The pointed toe gives a more polished look, which makes these a great daytime or evening option. I opt for a block heel mostly for the sake of comfort! I have no desire to walk outside in the rain with stilettos… it’s bound to result in a face plant.
2. Riding Boots
Every few years I buy a new pair of basic black riding boots. I wear these off and on throughout fall and winter. Especially as the temperature drops! They’re so easy to throw on over leggings or jeans for a cozy look. Riding boots are also great for creating a preppy look that you can wear into the office with a blazer.
3. Over the Knee Boots/Thigh High Boots
As a tall girl, a lot of over-the-knee boots are really just knee-high boots for me. Some years I’ll opt for an OTK boot that is structured like a riding boot. But I also like to have a suede pair of thigh highs that feel a bit more formal. These pair perfectly with a-line, shift, or sweater dresses. I currently have this pair (also linked below) and they are frequently on sale. Right now you can get them 30% off with code: FALL2020
4. Combat Boots
Loving these boots for stomping around on casual days. To be honest, most days are casual in my household right now! The only place we go is to an occasional restaurant, but other than that, we’re pretty much house-bound. My combat boots got a ton of use when we visited the muddy, rainy cotswolds a few weeks back. I wore them most days with leggings and an oversized sweater, flannel, or shacket.
5. Neutral Sneaker
I wear my all white Converse all year round, but I recently snagged some comfy (and sustainable) Veja sneakers. I might need some in another color now…Fingers crossed that Santa takes a hint! Neutral sneakers are definitely my go-to for long days exploring London or for running errands. Investing in a comfortable, high-quality pair will definitely be worth it!
Hope this helps you put your best foot forward this season!
